Mister & Niche start at SACS

Our latest two rugby players begin high school scholarships.

Ilitha “Mister” Ntinini (pictured above, right) and Niche Koopman (left) have become the latest Connect Sports Academy athletes to begin scholarships at a leading rugby school in Cape Town.

Our pair will attend SACS from January 2019 after finishing their primary school education at Prestwich Street Primary in Green Point, Cape Town, last December.

And they’re kicking off Grade Eight with a bang, moving into their boarding house before heading off on an induction camp.

A big thank you to our friends at Capital Land, who are sponsoring Mister’s scholarship, as well as leading law firm Bowmans, who continue to support his progress with our academy.

Team Connect at SACS

Mister will progress to the SACS Under 15 rugby side this season, having featured for the U14s in 2018.

Niche will add some heft to the U14 forwards this year in his first taste of high school rugby, having reached the final round of Western Province U13 selection in 2018.

Mister goes to SACS as a national champion, having won the South African national U13 rugby sevens competition with Western Province in 2017.

He did so alongside another Connect athlete, Akha Mjawule, who will join him in the school’s U15 squad this season as well as yet another of our youngsters, Aya Machuli.

We’re proud of all four boys as they continue their journeys, on and off the rugby field.

The same applies for our other athletes placed at SACS, Rondebosch, Wynberg, Bishops and other schools around the Cape Town area.

We also look forward to continuing their holistic development throughout the 2019 rugby season and beyond at our home, Burgundy High Performance Centre.

Will you help us nurture the future of South Africa?

We’d love for you to make a direct donation to support the work that we do with our young athletes.
