A huge thank you to the Department of Sport & Recreation, who have provided our athletes with a seven-seat vehicle.
The car allows us to provide safe, regular transport for our young people on a more consistent basis.
Sesethu, Lutho, Lamla, Lutho and Boepa even checked it out for themselves last weekend, as you can see!
The vehicle comes at the perfect time for our academy.
We have just moved our training programme to the Burgundy High Performance Centre in Cape Town.
Our roots are in the township of Khayelitsha.
But we now work with young people from across the Cape Flats and beyond in our fourth year.
The adaptability a vehicle gives us means we can deliver more effectively on our commitment to provide consistent access to quality resources and opportunities.
Several of our athletes are now on scholarships at leading schools across the city, as well as at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
Assisting with their transport for fixtures, training and other commitments will now be much more straightforward.
In short: we can now step on the gas in more ways than one!
We really appreciate the support of Director General, Mr Alec Moemi, and his colleagues for their decision to support the work we do.
Thanks also to the Sports Trust for playing their part in helping to change the lives of the young people in our care.
