Connect kick off tour fixtures vs Army Foundation

Our 2019 games began in Langa on Thursday against UK side.

A group of our athletes took to the field for the first of our tour rugby fixtures on Thursday, as Connect Sports Academy played against the Army Foundation College from Harrogate, England.

It was the first of many matches we’ll be playing throughout 2019 in partnership with our friends at Edwin Doran Sports Tours.

We’re working with the tour company to provide playing opportunities for our young athletes from across Cape Town.

Barbarian spirit, South Africa style

These games are a chance for our boys to come together and express themselves as players.

They’re also a chance to bring young people from different backgrounds – and different ends of the planet – together through a shared love of rugby.

Thank you to the Army Foundation College for the game and we wish your entire party the very best for the rest of your tour in the Western Cape.

A big thanks also to the team at Edwin Doran for helping to make this possible, as well as everyone connected with Langa Stadium for giving our representative side a home for the day.

Help our athletes rise through rugby

We’re always in need of sponsors and donors to support our work in providing consistent access to quality resources and opportunities for young South Africans.

If you or your company can help, we’d love to hear from you so please get in touch. Connect is a registered non-profit company and can issue a Section 18(A) certificate for South African donations.

You can also donate from the UK right here, with Gift Aid applicable to all donations.
