Connect Athletes In Action: 4 May

Where to catch our rugby players this weekend.

It’s derby day for plenty of our school-age athletes on Saturday 4 May, with our youngsters reveling in rivalry in Cape Town’s southern suburbs.

SACS vs Bishops

Our SACS Under 15A trio Aya Machuli, Akha Mjawule and Ilitha ‘Mister’ Ntinini come into their derby with Bishops fresh from a big victory over DF Malan last Saturday.

They kick off on home turf at 9.05 – that’s the same time as Niche Koopman represents the SACS U14A team against his fellow Connect athlete Haashim Pead, who will line up for Bishops.

Wynberg vs Rondebosch

Senior Rondebosch front row pair Lukhanyo ‘Boepa’ Vokozela and Lamla Nunu also play in a heavyweight derby as Rondebosch Boys’ High School go to Wynberg for their rival fixture.

The First XV match kicks off at 12:30, with our Wynberg U15A player Ridhau Bey in action nice and early at 8.45.

Union Milnerton Under 20s vs Primrose

Primrose are the opposition for our group of post-school apprentices this Saturday, as they represent Union Milnerton U20s at Theo Marais Park.

Also in action…

We also have a bundle of high school athletes playing for Jan van Riebeeck this rugby season. They have an away fixture at Malibu across the age groups throughout Saturday morning.
