Connect Athletes In Action: 1 June

Where to catch our rugby players this weekend.

You can see our Connect Sports Academy athletes rising through rugby once again this weekend across Cape Town. Here are the essentials:

SACS vs Wynberg

It’s a head-to-head tussle in Cape Town’s southern suburbs as our crop of Under 15 boys at SACS go up against a familiar face.

Ridhau Bey will be up against his fellow Connect athletes Aya Machuli, Akha Mjawule and Ilitha ‘Mister’ Ntinini with kick off at 10:40.

Our U14 back-rower Niche Koopman continues his first high school year when he plays at 9.35, while Eugene Solomons continues on his road back to full fitness in the senior division.

Stellenberg vs Rondebosch

Our two Rondebosch front row players are fresh from a bye week as they return to action in the northern suburbs.

Lamla Nunu and Lukhanyo ‘Boepa’ Vokozela represent Rondebosch Boys’ High School away to Stellenberg, with the First XV kicking off at 11:55.

Union Milnerton U20s vs Durbanville-Bellville

Our first group of post-school apprentices at Burgundy High Performance Centre are also coming off a bye week as they return to action with Union Milnerton U20s.

They will be in action at Theo Marais Park against Durbanville-Bellville on Saturday afternoon.

Also in action…

Our leading senior athlete, Sesethu Mtshazi, continues her preparations for the women’s Currie Cup campaign this weekend.

She travels with Western Province to Riversdale to take on South Western Districts as their pre-season programme continues.

We even have a youngster featuring all the way down at U13 level, as Endi Peter continues his season with SACS Primary on Friday afternoon, playing against Wynberg Primary at 16:30.
