A big thank you to our friends at PGA Supplements, who are supporting two of our athletes on the next step of their rugby journey.
Lukhanyo “Boepa” Vokozela and Lamla Nunu are being sponsored by the company as they build towards senior rugby.
Boepa is a member of the Western Province Under 16 squad that sets off this Thursday for Grant Khomo Week in Kimberley.
Our hooker becomes the first Connect athlete to be capped at that level, following three years of hard work and growth with our academy.
The pair both took part in the recent Coastal Tournament in Oudtshoorn and we’re proud of how far they have come so far.
Both boys have set an example to their academy team-mates with their work rate, discipline and commitment over recent months.
Providing them with enhanced nutrition and products to help them improve further is as much a reward for that as it is for their performance.
High performance needs a holistic approach
Supplementation for our senior athletes is just one aspect of what is needed to help them reach their potential.
Our boys will be training regularly at our High Performance Centre in Burgundy Estate, Cape Town, throughout the school holidays.
The duo are already supported by Timbercity’s Woodstock branch in Cape Town as part of our athlete sponsorship scheme.
They also began life at Rondebosch Boys’ High School in January 2018.
Boepa and Lamla attend the school in Cape Town’s southern suburbs on scholarships, as they combine academic growth with a platform to showcase their rugby.
We’re committed to providing our young athletes with the most consistent access to quality resources and opportunities that we can.
If you or someone you know can help us do that, we’d love to hear from you.
Congratulations boys… don’t eat it all at once!
