Connect Athletes In Action: 20 July

Where to catch our rugby players this weekend.

It’s all go this weekend with our athletes in Currie Cup and school action around Cape Town. Here are the details.

Western Province Women vs Border

Sesethu Mtshazi continues her Currie Cup season in the colours of Western Province, fresh from taking part in a Springbok training camp in Stellenbosch.

Our leading senior athlete plays her first home match of the campaign against Border, kicking off at 15:00 at City Park in Athlone, Cape Town.

Rondebosch vs Wynberg

Our Craven Week front row pair Lukhanyo ‘Boepa’ Vokozela and Lamla Nunu are back on home turf with their school, Rondebosch Boys’ High, this weekend, with the First XV match starting at 12:00 against local rivals Wynberg.

Featuring at U15A level for the away side is another of our youngsters, Ridhau Bey, bright and early with an 8:30 kick off.

SACS vs Paul Roos

We have a whole host of athletes taking on the mighty Paul Roos as they represent SACS this Saturday.

Look out for Aya Machuli, Akha Mjawule (pictured above) and Ilitha ‘Mister’ Ntinini in the U15A fixture at 9:00, the same time as Niche Koopman kicks off with the U14A side.

Eugene Solomons continues his campaign in the senior ranks a little later in the morning.

Also in action…

We’re delighted to be continuing our partnership with Jan van Riebeeck High School into the second half of the school rugby season.

They’re providing playing opportunities for our school-age athletes not placed on high school scholarships, with fixtures through the age groups against Settlers this weekend.

We’re even playing a couple of exhibition matches as ourselves against touring sides from the UK!
