Akha and Mister to represent Western Province Under 13s

Well done to our high performance athletes, who have been selected to represent Western Province for a second season running.

Congratulations to Connect high performance athletes Akha Mjawule and Ilitha (Mister) Ntinini, who have been selected to represent Western Province for a second successive season!

Following on from their Under 12 provincial tour to Riversdale last year, our pair will take on Boland, Eastern Province and South Western Districts over two intense days in Oudtshoorn on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 June.

To be chosen for the Southern Coastal Rugby Tournament is testament to the commitment, hard work and attitude of scrum-half Akha and inside centre Mister. A third Connect athlete, Aya Machuli, also did himself proud in reaching the final trial tournament in Worcester last month.

All three boys live under our care in our Connect clubhouse in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, where they benefit from enhanced nutrition, tutoring and training.

A big thank you to our junior rugby partners, Vusa Academy and Busy Bee RFC, who provide playing opportunities for our primary school players. Thanks also to Mister’s personal sponsor, leading African law firm Bowmans, who are supporting his development in our academy.

We have many more capable young rugby players working hard to step up and show what they can do on the provincial stage over the coming years – so keep an eye on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram feeds for all the latest and ways you can help transformation in South African rugby.

Get stuck in boys!

We’d love for you to sponsor another of our elite athletes, or make a direct donation to support the work that we do. Get in touch!
