Lutho Dyalvane

Lutho has been a part of our academy since 2014, having joined alongside his older brother, Litha. He is a prime example of making the most of what you have – and Lutho has been a pleasure to coach, deal with and get to know.

He plays his rugby for Western Cape Sport School, Cape Town, where he boards on a rugby scholarship alongside fellow high performance athletes Lamla Nunu and Lukhanyo Vokozela. All three boys are sponsored by the Woodstock, Cape Town, franchise of Timbercity. Join them in supporting a Connect high performance athlete.

Nicknamed ‘Mr Rugby’ by his academy mates, Lutho is a strong flanker and fetcher on the field and a dedicated, able student off it. Always an awkward touch rugby player, we will never forget how his eyes widened when he realised he would be allowed to tackle.

Growing up, he and his brother – a Western Cape chess champion – helped their mother in the family business, running a fast food outlet from their home in Makhaza, Khayelitsha. Despite this, we know Lutho is no flash in the pan and we’re proud to be supporting him through to matriculation.

We’d love for you to sponsor one of our high performance athletes, or make a direct donation to support the work that we do.
