Connect athletes join in the fun at the Cape Town 7s rugby

Connect’s high performance athletes are out in force for the Cape Town rugby 7s this weekend.

A big thank you to the friends of Connect who donated a combined 16 tickets for our youngsters to see their Blitzboks heroes in the flesh!

As well as a couple of our friends in Cape Town coming good, TV giants CNN provided a handful after filming with our athletes during the week.

You’ll see their piece on our academy online in the coming days.

All Connect eyes are on the rugby 7s

It’s not just fun for our athletes in the city, either.

Several more of our young people are camped in our Khayelitsha clubhouse, watching the action live on TV.

Opportunities like this are a wonderful chance for the kids to be inspired, create memories… and sneak a Saturday off training.

For our juniors, the trip is a perfect reward after their graduation from playing with our partners Vusa Academy last week.

And for our older athletes, a well-deserved break from their efforts in training over the last month.

We’ll continue to train hard in the lead up to the festive season, with our future stars inspired by Seabelo Senatla, Werner Kok and Co.

There will be a bit more fun to be had as well, as we give our group of players experiences beyond the rugby field and the gym.

So if you’re at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday or Sunday, look out for the Connect Sports Academy tracksuits and stop by to say hello to our stars of the future!

We’d love for you to sponsor one of our high performance athletes, or make a direct donation to support the work that we do.
